"I'm isolated": Saskatchewan woman plans for assisted death through MAID amid treatment delays
Description
A Saskatchewan woman, Jolene Van Alstine, with a rare form of parathyroid disease, is considering assisted dying because she's unable to get the surgery she needs. Alstine is scheduled to receive medical assistance in dying in January. "My friends have stopped visiting me, I'm isolated, I have to be at home, lying on the couch for eight years, sick and curled in a ball, wishing for the day to end," she said. Global's Sania Ali spoke to the woman's husband and has more on her condition and what the province is saying.
