This summer, I’ve been working on a very summery project in my studio. Nearly every day since early June, I’ve picked a flower or a twig from our garden, placed it in water, and carefully painted it onto a large canvas. Over time, the painting has taken on a baroque quality, as new blooms appeared or their ephemeral, summer beauty caught my eye. I filmed most of the process and put together this video to give a glimpse of the artistic journey behind the piece.
