On my channel, I always love telling stories of wrecks that have been forgotten - we explore not only not only a physical place, but stories that have faded so much that they have become uncharted all over again. This is one of those stories, but even more so - a massive ship with a sizable loss of life - gone. It’s barely even in the history books. We’re traveling to Marie Joseph in Nova Scotia to see if anything at all still exists of this 165 year old disaster. I came across this disaster while researching my documentary on the wreck of the Hungarian in early 1860. But, when I started looking into the Indian, I saw that there was absolutely nothing that fully told its story. When I traveled down to the wreck in Eastern Nova Scotia, I was surprised at how little there is on the location concerning it. Even the Hungarian had a small memorial and several local museums containing artifacts. Indian had... nothing at all.
