History Hit’s Tristan Hughes returns to the British Museum to get a special look at items from their upcoming touring exhibition Ancient Sudan: enduring heritage, an exploration into the Kushite Kingdom, a long lost civilisation that flourished in Sudan nearly 3,000 years ago. For over 1,200 years from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD, the Kingdom of Kush flourished and at its height was one of the largest empires in the ancient world, ruling from the Blue Nile to the Levant. Ancient Sudan: enduring heritage will be on display at Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery (1 February – 11 May 2025), and Stirling Smith Art Gallery & Museum (9 August – 9 November 2025).
