Anthropic CEO: We Won't Match Zuck's $$$
Description
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei says he’s not going to match Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s outsized offers for AI talent. “If Mark Zuckerberg throws a dart at a dart board and hits your name, that doesn't mean that you should be paid 10 times more than the guy next to you,” Amodei tells me in a new Big Technology podcast interview. Zuckerberg has been lobbing reported $100 million+ compensation offers to individual engineers to join his new ‘superintelligence’ team, and Amodei says he’s written a message in company Slack telling employees that if they bring one of Zuck’s mega offers to him, he will not adjust their compensation to keep them. “We’ll see how it plays out,” Amodei says. “I am pretty bearish on what they're trying to do"
