Since 1992, the Supreme Court imposed a mining ban, protecting forests through multiple rulings. In 2018, Haryana tried redefining Aravalli, but the court halted it. Now, in November 2025, the Supreme Court set a new definition that areas over 100 meters high qualify as Aravalli. This excludes many regions (95% in Gurugram, 90% in Faridabad) from protection, opening doors for mining. Environmentalists argue it will destroy hills, increase pollution, and threaten wildlife. Whereas, the Central government says that no mining relaxation, 90% Aravalli protected, freeze ban applies. Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav stated the definition for sustainable protection. On the second day of the winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the UP government presented the supplementary budget. But before that, Samajwadi Party started protesting over the cough syrup issue. The Party demanded a discussion on the cough syrup and rushed to the Well of the House. Speaker Satish Mahana warned everyone and pacified them, after which the Question Hour began. During this, dissatisfied with CM Yogi's reply, the SP staged a walkout. When asked about the cough syrup, CM Yogi said that there are two samples in the country. One sits in Delhi and the other in Lucknow. Whenever an important discussion takes place, they flee the country. Expelled Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir has reacted to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's statement regarding Babri Masjid. Humayun is launching a new political party on Monday. He said that he respects Mohan Bhagwat, but his apprehension that riots could erupt is unfounded, and he will not allow any such thing to happen. Earlier, Mohan Bhagwat had said that the court took a long time to deliver a verdict, and a Ram temple has been built there. The mosque-temple dispute has ended there.
