I demonstrate how, by varying the pressure on the pencil, you can create different tones of shading in your drawing. I then focus on two important techniques: 1. Contrast - by creating contrast you can make objects appear to stand out, dark against light will often make the lighter object stand out. 2. Shading objects lighter next to dark objects, the darker objects will often come forward, this is the basis of creating depth in a drawing.
