Brian Cox is Professor of Particle Physics at the University of Manchester, the Royal Society Professor for Public Engagement in Science and the presenter of shows such as The Planets, Human Universe and Brian Cox's Adventures in Space and Time. Nobody has done as much as he has for popularising the appreciation and understanding of science for a whole generation.
