Bronica S2A focusing problems AGAIN - the saga continues... new screen installed and then removed!

If you have a Bronica S2 or S2A, then you should watch this... but it's also interesting for any film or vintage camera shooters, or people interested in camera repair, because I go into detail on why the positioning of your ground glass is so important! And in case you didn't know, almost all of your analogue film cameras will have ground glass inside them somewhere, even the 35mm SLRs. I don't think I've ever been 100% happy with the focusing in my S2A. I started with the classic problem of being unable to reach infinity, replaced the ground glass foam, it got better, then I decided to change the focusing screen for a newer, brighter one. I ordered one from Rick Oleson (rickoleson-brightscreen.com), installed it, but then started having other problems. I tried flipping the screen from Rick, against his instructions, and it caused more problems again! Eventually I solved the problem by replacing the old screen and also replacing the foam around the ground glass AGAIN, second time in six months. What's really interesting though, is the insanely small tolerances involved in getting clear representation of focus on your ground glass. There is really any wiggle room, the distances have to be perfect. The good news is that cameras are built to do this... unless you start having problems, and then trying to recover that prefect distance can be tricky! Anyway, hope you find this useful, somehow!
