For the first time, there was an exchange of honours: King Charles received the Order of Pope Pius IX (Knight Grand Cross with collar), and Queen Camilla was made a Dame Grand Cross, while Pope Leo was made an honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath—never before given to a pope.
