Chinese Organized Fraud Ring Busted in Gift Card Scam.

These guys were part of a massive Chinese fraud ring that were scamming Americans by stealing gift cards. The way this scam works is that these individuals go to stores that sell all sorts of gift cards and just have them on open shelves so that anyone can grab them. ( They have to be activated by the cashier before they are valid) They will steal hundreds of these gift cards at a time, they take them home and scratch off the back to get all the information from the cards...card #, pin # etc. Then they put a sticker over those numbers so that it looks like it was never scratched off. Next they will return them to the store they stole them from or another store that sells the same type of cards. So now they have all the information from the cards and they have put them back into the stores. They wait for a customer to buy and activate the card so that they can drain the funds from that card because they already have all the details from it. This costs US businesses and customers billions of dollars per year. My advice for those that buy a lot of gift cards, NEVER buy them from a place that has them out in the open. It can be almost impossible to tell the cards have been tampered with. Always buy them from a place that has them locked up or where they are kept behind the counter so that only a cashier has access to them. Their cases are still pending, they have cases in multiple states too. They will be deported after the conclusion and after any potential prison sentences served. *suspects in these videos should always be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
