Candied Citrus Slices Slice citrus of choice no thinner than 1/8 inch and no thicker than 1/4 inch. Blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes, remove to cool. Combine 4 cups of granulated sugar and 2 cups of water in a pot to make a simple syrup. bring to a simmer and stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the blanched citrus to the simple syrup and simmer gently for 30-60 minutes or until the citrus is translucent. Remove citrus from pot and place on a drying rack to dry for approximately 8-12 hours. Coat slices in sugar and dip in chocolate if desired. These keep well, 1-2 months. Cranberry Bliss bars 8 oz browned butter 1 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp orange extract 1 tsp orange zest 1/4 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup flour 1 cup white chocolate chips 1/2 cup dried cranberries Bake at 350 in a 8x8 pan for about 25 minutes Frosting: 4 oz cream cheese, 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 tsp orange extract, 1/4 tsp vanilla, pinch salt. Melt 3 tbsp white chocolate and 1/2 tsp coconut oil for drizzle. *These freeze well! Toffee, Chai White Chocolate Chip Cookies 6 oz browned butter 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup granulated sugar 2 cups flour 1 egg, 1 egg yolk 1 tbsp vanilla 1 tsp salt 3/4 tsp baking soda 1.5 tsp chai spice 3/4 cup white chocolate chips 1/2 cup toffee pieces 1/4 cup pecans, roasted Bake at 350 for 8-12 minutes *These freeze well!
