The Battle which began in May 1968 during the period of the Tet Offensive is less well known than the more famous Battle of Long Tan but was the Australian Army's biggest and costliest battle of the entire Vietnam War. Demonstrating outstanding bravery, sacrifice and determination the participants were awarded a Unit Citation and a variety of Medals including a Victoria Cross to Richard Norden.
