DIY Chainsaw Firewood Processor - Free Wood and Second Hand Chainsaw

Workshop Renovation Episode 9 - Throughout the workshop renovation, a large pile of scrap wood has built up and it is time to get it cut up into firewood and free up the tack room which will become a temporary machine room until the main workshop space is finished. I decided to make a wood processing machine using a second had chainsaw and reclaimed pallet wood. Main advantages: 1. Most of the scrap wood has nails in it - this setup allows each piece to be inspected easily before it is cut. 2. Less effort - assuming the pieces of wood are lighter than the chainsaw on average there will be less energy spent lifting the wood, especially if it falls straight into the wheelbarrow. 3. Cleaner - the sawdust collection tube helps reduce the amount of cleanup needed. 4. Safer? - this one can be argued either way. Potentially more likely to fall on the blade. On the other hand, much less likely to get chain kickback or catch your leg/foot. You are also out of the way of the chain should it break and whip.
