The Großer Zapfenstreich is an old Prussian (German) military tradition, where military musicians perform many historical songs, hymns, marches, fanfares as well as more contemporary pieces. This was the last Großer Zapfenstreich in the former DDR, however the tradition is still carried on by the current Federal German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr)
