That year, the company introduced the world's first single-chip USB drive, a breakthrough that earned him global recognition for his blend of technological innovation and sharp market instincts. Now, Pua is turning his sights back to his homeland, Malaysia - a tech landscape he believes holds enormous potential, yet still faces critical bottlenecks. His initial venture in 2012 ultimately failed, largely due to Malaysia being treated as a "cost center" and a persistent talent drain to Singapore. However, shifting global geopolitics, particularly new policies from major clients like Tesla, prompted the need for an alternative base for operations and design. Though Vietnam was a strong contender, Pua ultimately chose Malaysia – a country he knows, feels connected to, and still calls home. This time, his vision is clearer: to help Malaysia transition from a manufacturing-centric economy to one built on high-value design, innovation, and a self-sustaining high-tech ecosystem. To realise this ambitious goal, he is committing RM100 million – a sum he views not just as an investment, but as a bold statement of determination and conviction.
