After a 48-hour chase using CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and human intelligence, a father-son duo was arrested for the crime, said officials. According to Special Commissioner (Law & Order) Ravindra Yadav, the prime accused, a 47-year-old man with a criminal record, had a long-standing enmity with Kataria. In 2016, he lodged an FIR against Kataria after a violent clash that allegedly left him bedridden for nine months. Since then, the resentment simmered for nine years. Last week, he carried out the attack with the help of his 17-year-old son, intentionally choosing a day before the boy’s 18th birthday so the teenager would still fall under juvenile laws.
