The evolution of boy bands from the 1950s until today. Boy bands are essentially just an all-male vocal group with three or more members. This concept has obviously been around since the dawn of music but the modern idea of a boy band didn’t come around until New Kids on the Block in the late 80s. There’s a lot of older acts that COULD technically be considered boy bands like The Beatles for example, but I only included a few of those pre-NKOTB groups since most of them don’t fit the idea of what a boy band is today.
