Samantha waited three years to take the leap and rent her own studio. To use her words, she was “busting at the seams” in her prewar apartment, with her husband and two boys all vying for space. Her art studio—just eight blocks from home—serves as the perfect detached workroom, a space she can make entirely fit for her art and artistic process. Speaking of fit for her art and process, Samantha’s studio is tailor-made to her work as an illustrator, drawer, graphic designer, and educator. A long desk sits against one wall, with her seat and computer bathed in gorgeous natural light. Her walls are filled with works of her own, old sketchbooks, and pieces that have inspired her over the years from fellow artists, family members, and friends. Originally from Philadelphia, Samantha lives and works in Brooklyn with her husband and two boys. She is best known for her daily sketch journal pages, which she shares with over one hundred thousand followers on her Instagram and which inspired her books: Draw Your Day, Draw Your Day Sketchbook, Draw Your World, Draw Your Day For Kids!, and Draw Your Adventures (July 2025).
