Fascia of the neck (anatomy)

Let me show you what you're made of. I teach human anatomy and do a bunch of other things in my life. I thought I'd use this channel to share some anatomy thoughts and include some of the other stuff too. YouTube makes it easy to share. I produce 2 types of video: talking about anatomy and personal vlogs. There's an anatomy teaching playlist if you just want to look at those videos. Do not use these videos for medical advice. I'm talking about human anatomy, but you should meet with a healthcare professional in meatspace for proper medical advice. Never use a single source of information for learning and assume it is free of errors. Use multiple sources and your own brain. These videos are not endorsed by the university at which I work. I have a PhD, I am a scientist, I cannot offer medical advice.

Video Description
There is a superficial layer of fascia in the neck, and there are 3 deep layers of fascia. What is fascia? Why is it important? How is it organised in the neck? What are the pretracheal and prevertebral fascia? And what's the deal with the retropharyngeal space? If you watch this video, it might answer these questions, but it might not. It can be tricky to visualise the fascia in the neck in 3D but we'll give it a good go.
