SMFR is an Internationally Accredited, ISO Class 1 Fire Rescue Protection District protecting approx. 300 square miles of the south metro Denver, Colorado area. The area includes portions of Arapahoe, Douglas and Jefferson Counties including Bow Mar, Castle Pines, Columbine Valley, Cherry Hills Village, Foxfield, Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Lone Tree, Louvires and Parker. SMFR is a career fire and rescue agency with 30 Stations overseen by 1 District Chief, 5 Battalion Chiefs and 1 EMS District Supervisor. There are 23 Engine Companies, 6 Aerial Companies, 19 ALS Medic Units, 15 Wildland Brush Trucks, 6 Water Tenders, 3 ARFF Units, 2 Water Rescue Units, 1 Rescue Company, 1 Haz-Mat Unit, 1 Collapse Unit, 1 Decon Unit, 1 Tracked Vehicle, 1 Foam Unit and 1 Large Area Ventilation Fan.
