From Canada to an Australian Farm | Our 10,000 Acre Harvest

We’ve just wrapped up our 2025 harvest on our 25,000 acre family farm in Western Australia and it's been one of the best seasons yet. Before diving into the harvest details, I wanted to take you back to the beginning and share how a girl from Ontario, Canada ended up living and working on a broad acre cropping and sheep farm in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. I moved to Australia in 2019 with dreams of beaches and city life, but instead found myself working in rural WA, where I met my partner Aaron and slowly became part of his family’s farming operation. Adjusting to life out here hasn’t always been easy, but over time I’ve learnt to appreciate the lifestyle, the community, and the incredible work that goes into producing food in a marginal rainfall area like this. In this video, I also share footage from our 2025 harvest, where for 5 weeks we harvested over 10,000 acres of wheat, barley, and oats. This season I was driving the chaser bin alongside two headers, while also trying to capture the experience on camera for the first time. These videos are a way for me to share our life on the farm, help others better understand what farming looks like for one family in Australia, and show my family back in Canada what my life is like now.
