About

I am a novice woodturner who's direct ancestors sailed over to America on the Mayflower. I am passionate about making. I find the woodturning process very therapeutic and relaxing, well, most of the time.. My intention is to create videos that are inspirational, instructional, and relaxing to watch. I hope to inspire folks to pick up the hobby. Woodturning and lathes can be dangerous. The techniques and methods I use are my own and are in no way intended to illustrate "how to" in regards to safety. I'm just a guy, having fun. Video Description

When a powerful hurricane swept through South Carolina, it brought down a beautiful Black Walnut tree. Instead of letting the wood go to waste, I salvaged a log and gave it new life on the lathe. In this video, I turn that storm-felled log into an elegant Black Walnut goblet—complete with a delicate captured ring. This project combines the natural resilience of walnut with the challenge of fine woodturning. From rough storm debris to a polished, graceful piece, you’ll see every step of the transformation. It’s proof that even in the aftermath of destruction, beauty and craftsmanship can emerge. If you love woodworking inspiration, the timeless art of goblet turning, or simply enjoy seeing nature’s chaos turned into something lasting, this project delivers. 👉 Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell to follow along with future turning adventures! #Woodturning #BlackWalnut #CapturedRing #GobletTurning #Woodworking #LatheWork #FromStormToArt #HurricaneWood #MayflowerWoodcraft black walnut woodturning, goblet woodturning, captured ring turning, turning hurricane-felled wood, walnut goblet project, woodturning inspiration, lathe goblet tutorial, salvaged wood projects, storm damaged wood craft, elegant wood goblet, Mayflower Woodcraft channel
