Today at AFR Autoworks we’re dialing in Austin’s 2017 Subaru STI on flex fuel and turning it up to see what his 6466 is capable of. The car made 540 wheel horsepower on wastegate boost at 20 psi on pump gas. Once we swapped it over to ethanol we were able to make a lot more! Final result: 836 wheel horsepower 630 wheel torque On E85 Peaking near 45 pounds of boost Build Overview 2017 Subaru STI Link ECU Standalone Pulsar 6466 Turbo ETS Front Mount Intercooler Process West Intake Manifold Modified Killer B Holy Header ID2600 Injectors Dual Hellcat Pumps Fuel Pressure Sensor with Differential Compensation Oil Pressure Based Rev Limiter Lambda Protection CAN Keypad Controls Boost Control, Rolling Anti Lag, Launch Control, Anti-Lag, Cyclic Idle, Pump and Fan Overide. The goal was 800+ wheel horsepower and it delivered. During tuning we ran into a fuel pressure drop issue around 6,000 RPM. Thanks to differential fuel pressure compensation and built-in safety features in the Link ECU, the car stayed perfectly on target and protected itself. The culprit? A missing fuse for the secondary fuel pump. 30 minutes later, both pumps active, fuel pressure stabilized, and power climbed fast.
