I visited a remote mountain village near the Myanmar (Burma) Wa State. Wa State is an inofficial autonomous state in Myanmar (Burma) which is independently governed without any influence of the central Myanmar Government. Its main population are the ethnic minorities of Wa and Lahu. For them, drinking means respect, so I was offered a drink in every Wa people's house. I can tell you, I was in quite a lot of houses and eventually got a little bit drunk.. However, I met very lovely locals who dressed up to show me their culture and started singing with us.
