The Burlington Estate has been around for almost 300 years, Savile Row has been central to this, first as a residential address for the military and aristocracy, but quickly establishing itself as the rightful home of craft, heritage and tradition. It has long been seen as the home of Menswear, specifically for Bespoke tailoring, ironic considering the street was actually named after the wife of the 3rd Earl of Burlington, Lady Dorothy Savile. Businesses have come and gone over the years, but now is arguably one of the most pivotal moments in the history of the street, and Bespoke tailoring is no longer the only reason to visit. Our store at number 39 made us the only shoemaker to open a store on Savile Row in 300 years, our neighbour is Clothsurgeon, a bespoke streetwear brand created by Rav Matharu, opposite us you have a wonderful michelin star restaurant from Jason Atherton, there art galleries in abundance and plenty more to come. The generational principles of what Savile Row has stood for lives on through all of these changes, but the street now feels more relevant to the lifestyle of today. Michael's favourite part about Savile Row is the street itself, what it stands for and why it's so important that any business that moves in here upholds the very foundations it was built on.
