Super Mario Bros. for the NES is a classic game, but it's just too easy. Stop taking the shortcut from world 1 to 4 to 8. This ROM hack removes all warp zones, shortcut pipes, and even powerups. The only thing left is Mario's will to survive knowing that if he makes a single mistake, it's right back to the start of the entire game for him. Of course, Super Mario isn't meant to have levels larger than 64 pages, so how is it possible that the environment, enemies, and everything else can contain everything from 1-1 to 8-4 in a single level? Only through slowly and excruciatingly solving every problem as they rear their heads. It wasn't easy, but it's a great hack to play through to let you experience Super Mario for the NES in a challenging new way.
