The driveway was buried under fallen palm branches, the front lawn was out of control, and the sidewalks were almost impossible to see beneath weeds and debris. Everywhere I looked, trees were spilling out and desperately needed cutting back. I knocked on the front door but got no answer, so I spoke with a few neighbors. One of them told me a man had lived there for over 30 years before suddenly disappearing. Since then, the property has been left to fall apart, which is really sad to see. It also looked like the kind of place squatters could easily hide out in, so cleaning it up would not only restore it, but help make the whole street feel safer again. I ended up needing to bring in a skip bin for this job, which was definitely necessary, but they cost me about $230 each time.
