Let's take a look at the often maligned Roma community in Europe. After being attacked in a train station in Antwerp, Belgium, I traveled to Eastern Slovakia to some of the 'worst' Roma communities. What I found, was far beyond what I expected. Important: While some individuals within the Roma community embrace the term 'gypsy' as part of their cultural identity, others find it offensive due to its historical use in stigmatizing stereotypes. In this documentary, I use the term 'gypsy' in certain instances as it relates to the context being discussed.
