In this video, I spend a full day with you in a remote rural village in the Maramures region of northern Transylvania – where life continues at a simple and authentic pace, surrounded by charming nature and centuries-old traditions. In the early hours of the morning, in the bitter cold of the frost, the villagers begin their day by tending to the farm: feeding the chickens, dogs, goats, sheep, cows, and pigs, and cleaning the barns. All this takes place amidst a quiet winter atmosphere, with only the sounds of animals and the crackling of snow underfoot. Afterwards, we move inside the farmhouse, where we prepare breakfast in the traditional clay and stone fireplace, which provides unparalleled warmth and comfort in this cold climate. During the day, we witness wonderful scenes of hay being loaded and unloaded by horses, and wood being chopped by hand for storage for the winter. The camera also documents the moments of milking the cows and caring for them in a traditional way that reflects the people's connection to their animals. Before evening fell, we prepared a delicious meal of meat and vegetables over a wood fire, using fresh ingredients from the farm. At the end of the day, the fireplaces were lit inside the wooden house in preparation for a cold night, adorned by the first breezes of snow falling gently against the windows.
