And I decided to import one from China as resellers were asking for too money. Now, I haven't had a smartphone from this company since the OnePlus 5T era. . . So a lot of things have changed. And a major requirement to unlocking the bootloader is to complete a Deep Testing process. Then Request approval through the app But I couldn't even create an account due to the signup page not wanting to accept my phone number. After a few months of research, I finally found a way to get a working HeyTap account And I was able to use my regular phone number too. . .with a country code that is not +86. . . Let me show you how I did it. Creating a HeyTap Account Since my entire goal is to switch my OnePlus 15 from ColorOS to OxygenOS. . . My first instinct was to pull up a guide from the XDA forum. I found this thread from koaaN. . .who has been very helpful to the community here. But in their guide, they told me that an account at HeyTap was required. They even talk about how the Chinese region was used during testing. . . So I had assumed the process would be smooth sailing. And I was definitely able to create an account from this page. However, when I logged into that account from the Deep Testing application I was told I needed to bind a phone number to it. And when trying to use my phone number. . .or any number without a +86 country code. . . I was told it wasn't allowed And that I must have a local phone number for the country of China So for the last few months I've been fighting with this But I did finally discover a workaround. And it started by finding the HeyTap account creation page for OPPO's Realme subbrand. Using this page. I was able to create an account by setting the region to China Then using my regular phone number with a +1 country code. And I was finally able to receive the confirmation code This was what I needed to do before I was able to complete the Deep Testing application process for unlocking the bootloader of my OnePlus 15. So even though it's an account portal for realme. . .since OnePlus is another sub-brand for OPPO. . .I was able to use it for my Deep Testing account.
