🚗 There are two different tracks how to get a Thai drivers license. One is if you already have a drivers license in your home country or perhaps also an International Drivers Permit, you are "fast tracked" and have to do less to get your license, but there are still A LOT of things to do and a significant packet to put together. The other is if you don't have a home country license or International Drivers Permit (or you do but neither has 6-months validity remaining) then you have to do a lot more. I outline every single document and step needed for both routes and physically take you with me to the DLT (Department of Land Transport). Also I'll talk about Thailand's new proposed laws which will make it dramatically more involved to get a Thai drivers license, even if you have a home country drivers license. Whether you are planning to retire in Thailand, work in Thailand, or just have an extended stay, I hope this video about how to get a Thailand drivers license will be helpful to guide you through the current process in 2025. One thing I forgot to mention in the video... If your home country license is not in English, you will need to bring a translation of it into English (oddly not Thai) certified by your home-country consulate or embassy, and bearing their stamp. If you have an International Driving Permit (which always includes English), you do not need to bring in a translation.
