I am ready to tell my story. My upbringing was unique and special, and I hope that being open about my story serves as inspiration for others. I’m hoping my film, Closing the Circle, will help change the perception of “traditional” and open everyone’s eyes to the endless dynamics of family. The most important thing you can learn in life is — family is not defined by blood. You choose your family (and you never let them go). While my metaphoric circle is finally closed; my mom, my dad and I will always be at the very center. The way they raised me and the lessons they've taught me will last for generations to come. My "new" family will carry on for generations, too! I need to close by emphasizing how grateful I am. My story is extremely rare and many people who are adopted don’t get anywhere close to connecting with their birth family (if desired). I truly don’t know how I got so lucky.
