I just bought the cheapest Mercedes-Benz C250 on Facebook Marketplace for only $1,200 — and while it sounded like a great deal, there was one big problem: the engine didn’t run. A Mercedes dealer quoted the previous owner $9,000 to replace the motor… but I wanted to see if I could fix it for way less. This is my first Mercedes project ever (I usually work on BMWs), so I’m sharing the full rebuild process from my perspective: Replacing the timing kit, Chasing down misfires, Tearing it apart again to replace 4 exhaust valves, Finally getting it to run — but with a few issues still left unresolved.
