I Forged a Cross Peen Hammer from Scratch

I did try two new techniques in this video that may or may not be of interest to you. The first one is the "pilot holes" technique, for punching the eye, and I gotta say, it was pretty good. The eye came out very straight and it was very easy to punch. The downside is that it takes a little while to set up and drill. The second technique that I tried was the separate hardening of the face and peen of the hammer. It worked out alright but it took a little bit too long in my opinion. The idea is that you want to keep the eye section as tough as possible, but you could do that by over tempering that section as well.
