Using an advanced horse DNA test from Texas A&M, we uncover genetic links to historic breeds like the Turkoman horse, Galiceño pony, and American Quarter Horse—shedding light on how these rare and ancient bloodlines helped shape the modern Mustang. This mustang’s story is a living piece of history. His genetics connect him to the Spanish conquistadors’ horses, Native American war ponies, and the rugged ranch horses that helped build the American frontier.
