Developed by the DRDO, the 30-kilowatt laser was successful in shooting down a drone followed by a swarm of drones. With this, India has entered an elite club of nations. Only the US, Russia and China are known to have used laser weapons against aerial threats. However, India’s DRDO says it will build a larger laser weapon which would then be incorporated on warships and aircraft.
