But Indonesia's Foreign Minister has warned against the deal. The deal was reportedly on the table to be signed the day of the Pentagon meeting. It wasn't. Indonesia's foreign minister said the arrangement would give the impression Jakarta was aligning with the US alliance — and warned it would place Indonesia as a potential target in a regional conflict. Indonesia flies F-16s, Su-27s, Su-30s, Chinese UAVs, French Rafales, and Apache helicopters — simultaneously. That mixed fleet is a deliberate strategic signal. They walked away from a $13.9 billion F-15 deal earlier this year. They're now looking at a Turkish stealth fighter.
