Video Description

IWC introduces the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Le Petit Prince (IW504901). This extraordinary timepiece unites two of fine watchmaking’s most prestigious complications: a fascinating flying minute tourbillon and the ingenious perpetual calendar. Both are powered by the IWC-manufactured 51950 calibre, a highly complex movement composed of 474 parts. The flying minute tourbillon at 12 o’clock, made of 82 components and weighing only 0.635 grams, places the pallet lever and escapement inside a delicate cage that completes a full rotation every 60 seconds. Limited to 100 pieces, the 46 mm model in blue ceramic continues our series of Pilot’s Watches dedicated to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s most famous character. A highlight of this edition is the solid gold rotor in the shape of the Little Prince standing on his asteroid, surrounded by wild-growing baobab trees. The signature conical crown and the case back ring are also crafted in 18-carat 5N gold.
