After recovering from a traumatic head injury, young scientist Jim Ackland relocates to a rundown boarding house while he continues to undergo treatment for blackouts, during which he remembers nothing. Resuming work at a chemical factory, John begins a relationship with the boss' daughter, the confident Jenny Carden. After Jim kindly loans money to a fellow boarder, she is found murdered -- and unable to recall his actions, Jim is the prime suspect.
