An Australian man has been conditionally released, four years after he was jailed in Iraq. Robert Pether was imprisoned in 2021 after he and a colleague were accused of stealing money from a project to rebuild Central Bank of Iraq's Baghdad headquarters. The pair were each given a five-year jail sentence and a joint fine of 18.4 million Australian dollars.
