My parents were great; they instilled in me the importance of imagination, curiosity, and the understanding that accomplishing something requires putting in the work. They taught me at a really early age that the world is your oyster and all things are possible if you put in the work. I grew up with that fundamental belief. Basketball was the most important thing for me. Everything I saw—TV shows, books I read, people I talked to—everything was done to try to learn how to become a better basketball player. When you have that point of view, the world literally becomes your library to help you become better at your craft.
