Lewis Miller Makes a Vibrant Dahlia Arrangement

We asked floral designer Lewis Miller of Lewis Miller Design to create an arrangement for his FLOWER magazine fans. Lewis combined locally-grown dahlias with materials foraged in Editor-in-Chief Margot Shaw's garden to make a vibrant fall flower arrangement. Lewis gathered early-blooming sasanqua camellias, Russian sage, abelia, beautyberry, and nandina berries. Margot gathered dahlias from Kathy Whitfield, a grower known in Birmingham as the Dahlia Lady. "Have fun!" says Lewis. "Take greenery from the garden and enjoy beautiful local flowers. It's such a treat."
