Claudia Sheinbaum will be Mexico’s first woman leader in the nation's more than 200 years of independence. The 61-year-old former Mexico City mayor will also become the nation’s first Jewish president in a country where more than 75% of the population identifies as Catholic, according to a 2020 Mexican government census.
