mgk didn't have a car as a young father, but now he's flying every weekend to be a volleyball dad. This is how his fatherhood journey started. "I'll never forget the first breath she took," mgk said. "She came out, she wasn't breathing, and the doctor tapped her chest or something like that, and when she took that first breath, tears like Niagara Falls started coming, and I fell in love. That was really the first person I ever loved." When his daughter Casie was a preschooler, mgk said, "When you're older, we're gonna be too rich to ever be in the hood," and he made that a reality. As a touring artist, it was hard for him to be with his daughter every day. mgk talked about this in his song called "Gone." So mgk dealt with this problem by creating lifelong memories with her. "It's not about the time that's made between you," mgk said. "It's about the memories that's made, and I do a great job to make sure that my daughter will have these lifelong memories for the rest of her life. I fill that void by always giving her like... she carries that my dad is mgk, my dad's is great... she carries that with her all the time. That's because I give her these special memories." mgk wasn't capping when he said, "She [Casie] carries that with her all the time." Casie stood up for her dad against a boy at her school. So mgk created those memories with his daughter on movie sets, at award ceremonies, on stage, and everywhere in between. FYI mgk's real-life daughter played his on-screen daughter in his movie called "One Way." "We realized I was reading a lot younger on camera to where it didn’t look like it was possible for me to have a teenage daughter. Even though my daughter’s 11, which is almost a teenager. It was such a plot point in the movie, so [we] wanted to make sure the viewer stayed invested. We went through all these different options and I was finally like, ‘My daughter’s coming down to visit me next week. What if my daughter plays my daughter?’ There’s no way the viewer cannot be invested in it when that’s the case," mgk explained. Also, he created memories at her volleyball games. Jelly Roll said, "I'm just with mgk at MGK Day in Cleveland, and he's got a 16-year-old that's already taking college classes. genius kid. This dude [mgk] flies every weekend from LA to go be a volleyball dad. He took a year off of touring. He's like, 'It's gonna be one of the last years I can watch her play.' that's the kind of dude he is like where his spirit's at." "The most important thing is, it's about memories that you create with them. I can't waste any more of those times 'cause now she [his daughter] needs me, and I need to be able to help her blossom into the person she's gonna become 'cause she's the future of my legacy. And then she's gonna create her own, and I wanna be her biggest fan. I wanna be her No. 1 supporter. I wanna be the person in the crowd for her, like cheering for her on the sidelines. That's the next big thing for me. That's my next No. 1 album," mgk said. That's why mgk skipped Coachella because his daughter's volleyball tournament ended up on the same days, and she comes first. mgk said, "She's the catalyst for everything good that I'm becoming. My whole world revolves around her." She's the reason why his album Hotel Diablo is what it is. mgk blacked out everything except the heart tattoo given by his daughter. mgk's publishing company is called "For Casie Publishing." He said the money that he makes off record sales goes to her [Casie], and he wrote a song for her so he won't have any regrets if his time ever comes. The song is called "play this when i'm gone," and it isn't the first song he wrote thinking of her. In 2023, mgk dropped his daughter off for her first day of highschool. And mgk got sober for his daughter. So who is mgk's daughter Casie? mgk says she is "the queen of Planet Earth." "I've experienced so much in my life. She [his daughter] just has this walk, it's just pure like bounce. She's so excited for life. I just pray to every God that exists that she keeps that bounce forever and no one interferes with that, and that I always get to stand back and watch her have that bounce. It's worth living for," mgk said. Recently, mgk gave father advice to Logan Paul and Brandon Buckingham.
