The new Porsche Cayman GT4 RS has an engine derived from the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car. It reaches 62mph in the same 3.4 seconds as the road-going 911 GT3 and has set a new Cayman benchmark around the Nürburging. So is there actually any point to both GT4 RS and GT3 existing together? Porsche insists there is; one is for the road the other the track it says. The GT4 RS has new aero - including a massive rear wing - is lowered, lighter and more powerful than the Cayman GT4. But the power is only 50PS up and the weight loss just 34kg so this is more of an evolved Cayman, than a brand new ballistic missile. It also has a 4.0-litre flat-six engine that revs to 9,000rpm and with a new air intake instead of a rear side window, rasps possibly the best sound in any car in the world.
