Over the past 10 years or so, we’ve taken a look at nearly everything cinema has to offer, from genres to aesthetics and everything in between. But one of my favorite topics, one that’s worth revisiting here, was best shots. Since every image in a movie is, in essence, a shot, and you can’t very well compare a close up in The Passion of Joan of Arc to a sweeping desert vista in Lawrence of Arabia, or a barrel roll perspective shift in The Dark Knight to a speed ramp to a slow motion tick shot in Contact, it’s a topic that’s worthy of several videos. In fact, I think it’s worth revisiting several videos so here they are all in one place! These are 28 of the best shots of all time… all together… in a feature length bit of film-nerding out.
