Video Description

Poland has agreed to buy three brand-new A26 submarines from Sweden in a multi-billion-euro deal — a move that’s as political as it is military. According to Marcin Zaborowski, this marks a major strategic shift north, with Poland strengthening ties with Sweden, Finland, and the Baltic states rather than relying on its traditional Central European partners. The A26 submarines are so advanced that even Sweden doesn’t have them yet. Small, extremely quiet, and hard to detect, they’re designed to make Russia think twice before acting aggressively in the Baltic Sea. Until the new submarines arrive in 2031, Polish crews will train in Sweden and operate some of Sweden’s current boats to maintain readiness. Zaborowski notes that Poland’s navy has been neglected for years, and this purchase fills a critical gap in the country’s defense strategy. The deal is expensive and largely funded through borrowing, but part of the cost will be offset by EU defense funds and cooperation with Swedish industry. 🔴 Watch our 24/7 livestream - https://youtube.com/live/UFrlr77yff8 Bringing you all the latest daily news and updates, TVP World is Poland's first English-language channel where you can find world news as seen from the Polish perspective and the latest news from the CEE region.
