Sausage Pasta A simple yet satisfying pasta dish with a rich sausage and tomato sauce. Ingredients: • 12 oz pasta (spaghetti, rigatoni, or your choice) • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed • 2 tbsp olive oil • 1 onion, diced • 3 cloves garlic, minced • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes • 1 tsp dried oregano • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional) • Salt and pepper, to taste • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving Instructions: 1. Cook the pasta: Boil pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. 2. Cook the sausage: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook, breaking it up, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. 3. Make the sauce: Add onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. 4. Combine: Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. 5. Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve with Parmesan cheese. Variation: For a creamy twist, stir in 1/2 cup heavy cream or a dollop of ricotta cheese before serving.
