The quantum Cheshire Cat is a famous experiment thatโ€™s attracted a lot of attention in the past decade. In this experiment, a particle is supposedly separated from one of its properties, for example its spin or polarization. Itโ€™s called the Cheshire cat because that particle is kind of like the cat and its disembodied property is kind of like the grin of the cat. But maybe I should better say there was this famous experiment, because it was just debunked in a new paper. Letโ€™s have a look. Paper is here: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1367-2630/ad0bd4 ๐Ÿค“ Check out our new quiz app โžœ http://quizwithit.com/ ๐Ÿ’Œ Support us on Donatebox โžœ https://donorbox.org/swtg ๐Ÿ“ Transcripts and written news on Substack โžœ https://sciencewtg.substack.com/ ๐Ÿ‘‰ Transcript with links to references on Patreon โžœ https://www.patreon.com/Sabine ๐Ÿ“ฉ Free weekly science newsletter โžœ https://sabinehossenfelder.com/newsletter/ ๐Ÿ‘‚ Audio only podcast โžœ https://open.spotify.com/show/0MkNfXlKnMPEUMEeKQYmYC ๐Ÿ”— Join this channel to get access to perks โžœ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1yNl2E66ZzKApQdRuTQ4tw/join ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ On instagram โžœ https://www.instagram.com/sciencewtg/ #science #scienenews #shortly
